The Holiday season always brings lots of recycling. This year, one of my friends offered me this huge packing insert (I think the technical term is molded paper pulp packaging). I couldn’t pass it up to make a sweet piece of wargaming terrain for our 40k table.
I remember watching a video about 2 years back of Wyloch making some awesome terrain out of this stuff, and I thought I would try my take on it as well.
Other than the paper pulp packaging, I used lots of Cardboard, Chipboard, Wood Glue and Hot Glue. A tiny bit of XPS foam, Foamcore and EVA Foam. Straw pipes, and other random junk were thrown in as well.
These, alongside the rest of my large scale terrain, gets sheet metal for the top so that it can hold all my magnetized attachments, like walkways, or chain link fences.
Materials:
- Chipboard
- Thin Sheet Metal
- Drywall Mesh Tape
- Chicken Wire 1/2 inch pattern
I’ve used a lot of inspiration from other makers as well, of which there are too many to name here. If you want to know where I first saw any of these techniques, just ask in the comments, and I’ll try to remember.
