Second Helpings rescues leftover food and turns it into nutritious meals for other nonprofits.

Every year, millions of pounds of perfectly edible food end up going to waste. At Second Helpings, their mission is to turn rescued food into nutritious meals for their partners across Central Indiana. Unlike a traditional kitchen, the menu changes daily based on the ingredients that arrive, but with help from a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, they are able to turn leftover food into hope for thousands of people. Last year alone, Second Helpings prepared nearly 1.4 million meals, averaging 5,500 to 5,800 meals every day.
