In this video I show how I built a unique model railroad structure using Design Preservation Models (DPM) modular system. I kitbashed multiple DPM components to create a building based on a real prototype structure. You'll see how I planned the structure, created a custom footprint and configuration, and added details to make the building fit into my passenger station scene.
If you enjoy model railroad structure building, kitbashing, and prototype-based modeling, this project demonstrates how flexible the Design Preservation Models modular system can be. This kind of project is a great way to create one-of-a-kind structures that can make your layout feel more realistic.
In this video I will demonstrate:
• Planning a custom structure from a prototype
• Using DPM modular walls to create a unique building
• Kitbashing techniques for model railroad structures
• Detailing a structure to match the prototype
• Ideas for creating more realistic industries on your layout
Whether you're building a scale structure, looking for model railroad kitbashing ideas, or want inspiration for custom industries, this project shows how to turn standard kits into something completely unique.
