I’ve been craving a space to just create again… and this room finally became it. In this video, I’m transforming an empty upstairs room in my 1930s Tudor home into a light, airy painting studio while still keeping that grounded, historic feel throughout the house. Living in the northeast, winters can feel long and heavy, so I wanted to design a space that felt softer, brighter, and a little more like the light I grew up with in Florida.
After testing so many paint colors, I finally landed on Farrow & Ball's Joa’s White for the walls and paired it with a deeper, grounding trim color (Sherwin Williams Stone Lion) to keep the space feeling intentional and rooted.
This project involved skim coating, sanding, priming, painting, and installing flooring to completely transform the room and it’s now becoming my dedicated painting space.
Next step… creating a piece of art for above the fireplace 🤍
