WYOMINGWOODTURNER | Turning an Ancient Wooden Pottery Jug.....with a Plug Woodturning with Sam Angelo @WYOMINGWOODTURNER | Uploaded May 2022 | Updated October 2024, 7 hours ago.
Sam transforms an amazing piece of Myrtle burl wood into a different and unique hollow form. He calls it a "Jug with a Plug". The shape reflects Sam's love of old pottery. He does show some hollowing, but focuses on turning the form and making the plug or lid for this vessel. He also shows how he makes a simple and cheap thickness gouge out of 1/8" wire.
