Celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of J.M.W. Turner (born 23 April 1775) and the 150th anniversary of the birth of Maurice Ravel (born 7 March 1875), here is a close view of five paintings of Turner, accompanied by Le Gibet from Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit, played by Jack Gibbons (recorded live in concert in June 1984).
