Learn the Level 1 Turkish Get-Up — a beginner-friendly progression that builds core strength, oblique engagement, and thoracic mobility, setting you up for the full Turkish get-up down the road.

This variation can be done with no equipment at all, or you can add a hand weight in your top hand once you're ready to progress.

💪 What this exercise targets:
- Abdominals
- Obliques
- Thoracic (upper back) mobility

👉 How to do it:

1. Lie face-up, left knee bent, left arm extended overhead, right leg straight, right arm out at 45 degrees
2. Engage your abs and obliques to prop yourself up onto your right elbow
3. Stack your wrist, shoulder, and elbow in one line at the top
4. Lower back down with control — that's one rep
5. Complete all reps on one side before switching, resting 15–30 seconds between sides
6. Repeat on the other side with opposite arm/leg positioning

⭐️ Progression tip: Once you're comfortable with bodyweight, add a light hand weight overhead — keep your eyes on the weight and make sure it stays stacked directly above your shoulder throughout the movement.

Perfect for anyone building foundational core strength, working toward the full Turkish get-up, or looking to improve shoulder stability and thoracic mobility.
