Hiking to Tunnel Falls via the Eagle Creek Trail is a breathtaking journey through a steep and narrow canyon. Much of this dramatic trail was carved into sheer cliff walls, with an ever-present torrent of rushing water thundering over numerous falls below. Your journey culminates in the unforgettable experience of hiking through a passageway directly behind the 172-foot-tall Tunnel Falls. Much of the route was carved into solid rock by hand over 100 years ago. The trail is not for the faint of heart and can be wet and slippery in places, but the power and beauty of the Columbia River Gorge area in spring make this exhilarating adventure worthwhile.
