The Kongzi is finished with repairs and the crew has been fully debriefed by Starfleet Intelligence, Starfleet Security, and the Federation Department of Temporal Mechanics. Lt. Borl, originally of the U.S.S. Lexington has requested to stay aboard, and I have granted this request, but he is temporarily being transferred to Starfleet Medical Division 14 for observation. As for the rest of us we have been put back on old fashioned exploration and survey duty. It will be nice to get back out there for a bit without Romulans and ancient megastructures threatening all of our lives. Another bright note is that we are bringing aboard a new chief science officer, Lt. Vralax [vray-lax]. His specialty in archeology will hopefully help us next time a Tilikaal structure tries to destroy a star system or fling us into a new dimension or whatever else they have in store for us.

I need to remind Dr Hobnol to increase training on the risks interspecies sexual activity.
On the edge of explored space the Kongzi detects an unusual pair of planets, binary m-class worlds. When the crew goes to investigate they encounter signs of an ancient atrocity. As they investigate what happened on these planets they become at risk of becoming the next victims of and ancient force of destruction. Can they discover what happened, and escape without becoming casualties? Further what will their discovery mean for the Shackleton expanse?
