●ROUND 5: Traitor●


It's pitch black inside Marahute's wings. An intense iron smell fills the contestant's noses.
The smell of blood.
There's an intense light, and Marahute transforms back into Mama Odie, revealing the light of the plaza, which momentarily blinds them.
The red color of blood covers it all.
The pavement, their clothes, their faces. The contestants look at their feet, where Melody's, Charming's and Mama Odie's corpses are stacked up together.
Tulio emerges from both Nita and Sinbad, screaming for his dead master's name, who died trying to protect them all from the bullets.
His intense cry is the only thing the contestants can hear in the plaza, in which a silence so numb reigns like a buzzing.
The guards prepare their weapons to shoot at them again.
Sinbad and Nita look at each other, the horror in their faces.
After a couple of seconds that seem like an eternity, the screams from the people start reaching their ears again. The crowd is turning on to the Grand Duke and the guards who have killed their innocent friends and relatives yet again, in another senseless chaos, by fighting them and consequently protecting the contestants.
"-You've killed my daughter!
-My son!
-YOU BASTARDS!!"
Nita's words get as well echoed by the crowd:
"-What is that about the king being the traitor?
-We demand an explanation!
-Who is the real traitor here!?
-You were to hang an innocent child and you have shooted another one!"
Sinbad and Nita are paralyzed, but the guards are not. Before they get to shoot at them again, their Tulios take control of the contestants and use their magic to free Phoebus, Frollo, and Cassim's family, and transport them all to a safe place.
-No!! -the Grand Duke shouts, his voice raising above the furious crowd. He turns to face the contestants.- You... You can feel it too, can't you? The power increasing inside because of your friends' death... Yes... -the Duke's eyes turn red, shining like a pair of rubies. Behind him, a tall figure emerges, invisible to anyone but the contestants. Nita and Sinbad gasp as the image of Tulio, covered in a red halo, stands beside the Duke.- WHAT A THRILL!
With a movement of his hand, the earth shakes beneath the contestants, who barely manage to get to safety, just to see how the Duke dissapears into the castle walls.

Sinbad and Nita retreat to a safe place to think about what just happened. There is just so much to take in:
Charming and Melody are dead now, and so is the sweet Mama Odie. They can feel Tulio's sadness inside of them; when they go silent, they seem to even hear his cry.
Above it all, they've discovered that their real enemy is no other than the Duke himself, who is a "traitor" just like them, with Tulio's soul inside of him and thus access to magic. And a very controlled one, at that.
They realised he must've given entire control to his Tulio from the beggining to do as he pleases, therefore his superior control with magic. They also come to the realisation that the reason the Duke wanted to instantly kill all magicians when Tulio's soul split was to gain more and more power as each other magician died. As each Tulio is independent on its own, there's no wonder why he wouldn't be sorry to kill the other users. And also, why he would condemn an innocent child like Shanti to death, so the contestants would hurry to rescue them all of this injustice and fall directly into his trap.

The only positive thing they can get out of this situation is that, at least, Frollo, Phoebus and Cassim's family are safe now. The contestants can decide to go to them and perhaps share some words with them if they want to.
