Turns out there’s multiple “2 Minute Rules” out there, so I struggled to find the one I was talking about. This one is really close but focuses on building new habits:

For when you get “lost in the sauce” or overwhelmed/paralyzed (or just really don’t want to do the thing), the trick is to tell yourself to do it for 2 minutes only. The trick is, most times when you get going, even after 2 minutes, you’ll have some momentum and keep going since you’re already there. If not, just stop. At least you did 2 minutes.
In other words, “do it anyway.”
