I really like how they came out tho, I tried my best to make it look as polished as possible! Had some fun with the room interior designs, took inspiration from baroque ballrooms and gothic windows cause I love those! Nymira meets her half-brother Castien and they visit the local mage, cause Castien is his apprentice. The mage notices that Nymira is having a hard time coping with grief over her killed best friend. Meanwhile Rain is taken hostage by the elven princess Juveline, who orders him to be her sister's partner or else she will have him hanged. Rain has to pretend that he loves said sister, Tatrina, even thought she is way younger than him and he doesn't love her at all. During the royal ball in the palace, Rain dances with Tatrina and she wants to kiss him, he doesn't have a choice but to go along. Rint and Nymira both see that happen, and they're both upset (they're both secretly crushing on Rain). I wanted to experiment with lineless + sketchy painting style and I really like what came out of it! The color pallete is taken from "Your city gave me asthma" album cover because it's such a good pallete as well as album, I really love it. This is definitely more feeling-driven than perfectionist-driven so it's pretty simplistic at times, but I just wanted to capture the mood of the song and not focus on the little details. Just a fun little project to let some feelings out.Characters in order of appearance: Rain, Nymira, random DragonKeepers, Celthric, RivathaLore summary: Let's say that the series doesn't have a typical happy ending "and they lived happily ever after". Not entirely. Rain gets locked in prison after it's outed that he killed his apprentice. A year later his girlfriend breaks him out and he has to hide at a black market place for a year to avoid king's guards looking for him. After some time he is assumed dead and he can finally stop hiding. His girlfriend stays with him and helps him heal, his former mentor forgives him. But he can never come back to the Order of DragonKeepers, as everyone there knows what he did. Just like in the theme of the album ("your city gave me asthma, that's why I'm fucking leaving"), he kind of hates the Order because of all the traumatic events that happened to him when he was there, but at the same time he doesn't want to leave a place that he called home for the last four years. He needs to learn to leave it forever, buried with the past and start a new chapter in his life, even if it's painful. Amber realizes she can't keep Casimir safe alone by herself, and in desperation decides to give him up to some human family, knowing that he has the ability to transform into a human form and hoping that they will take better care of him. Unable to tell him the truth, she leaves him at the humans' door and just flies away when he is not looking. Casimir is devastated by her disappearance. He gets adopted by the human couple and raised as their own child, transforming into his human form. But with time, his hatred for his sister and confusion as to why she just left him kept growing. Eventually, they meet again accidentally many many years later. He will be banished to the bad side of Afterlife ("Hell"). Here he will find out that the demons are preparing for a war with the angels to overtake the entire Afterlife and the Earth later on. Casimir takes part of the army and retreats, Virion promises to be right behind him with the rest. But Casimir goes back to Acral alone.
