🥓🧅🍅 Bacon Onion Tomato Pie 🍅🧅🥓
A savory and comforting dish that combines crispy bacon, sweet onions, and juicy tomatoes, all baked in a creamy cheese filling nestled in a flaky pie crust.
Ingredients:
1 deep-dish pie crust (store-bought or homemade), pre-baked
6–8 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup sour cream
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or parsley (optional)
Directions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the sliced onions until they are soft and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the crumbled bacon, sautéed onions, sliced tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, flour, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
Assemble the Pie: Pour the filling mixture into the pre-baked pie crust, spreading it evenly.
Bake the Pie: Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with chopped fresh chives or parsley if desired. Slice and serve warm, enjoying the delightful combination of flavors in every bite!
