Believe it or not, I’m back with another pond update.
This one is a little different though. We’re not fixing the leak today, we’re not diving deep into algae treatments, and we’re not talking about why this pond is somehow still full in early July. Today I’m showing the electrical project I just finished out by the solar panels.
Over the last year or so, this area has slowly turned into the control center for the pond. The solar panels run the well pump, I added electric so I can run the pump on demand, the Airmax aerator now lives out here, and this whole setup is also getting ready for the big waterfall / stream project I still plan to build.
But the newest addition is lights and security.
I added two elevated light poles, flood lights, smart switches, conduit, strut mounts, river rock, and a new Reolink Wi-Fi tracking camera that watches over the pond. The goal is pretty simple: make this area more usable at night, give us some light when we’re camping or fishing around the pond, and add another layer of security around a 1 acre pond.
At night, this thing lights up like a little oil rig… and honestly, I kind of love it.
I also check the pond temperature, pull a few bluegill, talk about running the aerator at night during this heat, and show a little more of what’s going on around the pond this summer.
