Welcome to Rockstar Eater! Today we are doing something incredibly exciting and taking an ultimate island adventure: trying authentic Samoan food for the very first time!

➡️ Trying SAMOAN FOOD For The First Time! | LA's Rarest Island Feast

Did you know Samoan and Polynesian cuisine is one of the absolute rarest types of food to find in Southern California? To get the authentic experience, Steve visits a true local hidden gem: Poly Grill and Bakery in Carson, CA! This family-owned, cafeteria-style restaurant serves up incredible island comfort food and fresh-baked pastries. Watch as Steve does a massive taste test of traditional Samoan dishes like Palusami, Turkey Tail, Feke (Octopus in coconut cream), and the legendary Pani Keke!

📍 The Epic Samoan Dishes We Tried:

→ The Custom Poly Plate: A massive combo plate loaded with white rice, baked taro, crispy roasted pork belly, lamb ribs, and mackerel in coconut cream.
→ Savory Island Meats: Incredibly flavorful roasted Turkey Tail, fatty Corned Beef, and savory Pork Sausage.
→ Palusami: A staple Samoan dish made of tender taro leaves baked in rich coconut cream.
→ Feke & Curry Mussels: Ultra-tender octopus and seafood swimming in a creamy, savory coconut sauce.
→ Samoan Chop Suey: Thick glass noodles mixed with savory corned beef and soy sauce.
→ Pani Popo & Pineapple Pie: A melt-in-your-mouth yeast bun drenched in sweet coconut cream, and a pie filled with sweet grilled pineapple!
→ Pani Keke (Steve's Favorite!): A dense, cake-like coconut fried dumpling that is crispy on the outside and perfectly spongy on the inside.

💡 Rockstar Foodie Pro-Tips for Poly Grill & Bakery:

→ Plan Your Visit (Weekend Only!): This hidden gem is ONLY open from Friday to Sunday (8:30 AM to 3:00 PM). If you want to try it, you have to plan a weekend morning/lunch trip!
→ Use Your Hands: The best way to eat these traditional island meats (like the crispy pork belly and lamb ribs) is to wash your hands and dig right in!
→ Say Hi to the Owners: When you visit, say hi to the amazing owners, Tina and Miracle, and tell them Rockstar Eater sent you!
