Laundry detergent pacs not dissolving? Here’s most likely why: the pacs always have to go into the drum first. That way, as soon as the water gets shot into the machine, it immediately starts breaking down the PVOH and allows the pac to dissolve and ✨GET✨TO✨WORK!

Some newer machines have little detergent pac compartments (like liquid detergent compartments). While when I first learned about this I thought, ‘what fancy 🍑 person needs that?’. But then, upon further research, I learned that the pac goes down a little water slide and breaks down much faster, meaning the detergent can mix up and get to work that much quicker. Definitely a feature that makes sense to me and takes the guesswork out of laundry. For the record, pacs cannot go into a regular laundry detergent tray. And, for top loaders, they can also go at the bottom of the drum before clothing. So, if you’ve been having trouble with this, try again.
