Are your guitar solos stuck in a mechanical rut? If you feel like your fingers are just running on robotic autopilot up and down the exact same pentatonic boxes, you are suffering from "shape hypnosis."
When you limit yourself to just three notes, something shifts. Instead of running through shapes mechanically, your brain starts thinking more creatively about rhythm, dynamics, bends, and feel. It's one of the best exercises I know for breaking out of box-based soloing.
