President Donald Trump on Monday, Aug. 31, brushed aside reports that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth may be considering a 2028 presidential run.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said it was “very early to talk about that” and said Hegseth is focused on “the military and taking care of the military.”
Hegseth has denied the reports, writing on X that they are “100% false.”
