there was a time in 2024 when i was so depressed that i didn’t leave my house for an entire month. not long after i revisited that grief and tried to spin it into something else. i tried writing a song from the perspective of jim carrey in the truman show, a movie about someone realizing they’re trapped in a fabricated world that they can’t escape from. relating to that heavily, i wanted to write about breaking free from a frame of life that felt so unnerving, anxious and cyclical. it helped me find peace again. this one’s called truman’s show.
