“Know yourself. Accept yourself. Become the Creator.” - Ra, The Law of One
Sometimes “know yourself” in this three-step process is misinterpreted to mean that you should know your Ultimate Self as your first step. But that’s not what this means in this quote, although it will result in this enlightenment in the end.
In this statement, it simply means that the first step is to know what is NOT yourself, that which you have adopted as if it is your true Self—the distortions, the wobbles in your mind, your patterns, lack beliefs, and all these things you've taken on—and to become honest with these aspects of the assumed (little) self. Only when you know these things about yourself can you truly accept yourself, forgive yourself, and transmute yourself into becoming the Creator.
To know yourself, you first need to acknowledge yourself and be willingly transparent to everything that can exist within you, without projecting cause in others. This means accepting the darkness, as well, and not making that a negative. Just honestly acknowledge it.
You can treat the negativity within yourself using a positive, welcoming approach. In this way, you're not going to uncontrollably give in to your negative tendencies. That's not what acceptance does. Acceptance and control are actually synonymous when they're properly understood.
To be in acceptance of yourself is to be in control of yourself. To be in non-acceptance of some part of yourself—or any part of the Universe really—is to lose control of those parts.
And then those “negative aspects,” or wobbles, will influence your life without your control, because you're insisting it’s not you, that you’re not in charge. You don’t want to acknowledge these things as ‘me.’
If you can accept the things you don't want to see, recognize, or own, you can become a masterful being. This is when you're on your way to becoming the Creator, which will have a whole knowledge of itself. And it will be disciplined in that sense; it will be in charge of itself.
It’s up to you to choose what you want, with no judgment. Do not be afraid of any (or all) of yourself, because none of it is you. And because it's not really you, you can accept that everything is part of what you can be; it's part of the full gamut of your wholeness.
And this is when acceptance will make a difference. That's when it will change you. That's when it will correct you. That's when it will realign you to be a closer representation to Source.
