You're invited to an assassination

TRUE NOIR: The Assassination of Anton Cermak is the perfect "origin story" for Nate Heller and his career as a highly visible (and controversial) detective. The story introduces listeners to the world of 1932 Chicago, the end of the Prohibition Era, and to a man, Nathan Heller, who is on the police force, but isn't exactly clean, but neither is he entirely dirty.
It's complicated. It always is.

Heller is known for occasionally bending the law - sometimes past its breaking point - in order to make sure justice has been served.
In this audio adaptation, Collins recounts the circumstances of Nate Heller's first big case. It's a case that finds Heller standing over the corpse of the Mayor of Chicago and between Al Capone and Frank Nitti, two of the most notorious mobsters of the era.

To survive, Heller needs the advice, counsel, and assistance of characters like the "untouchable" Elliot Ness, Hollywood actor George Raft, and boxing legend Barney Ross while on his way to launching a career that will, eventually, take him "to the stars."
