This is a video I made in Dover Florida at the Dover Road railroad crossing on the A line. After arriving at the crossing to find it destroyed, I then called it in to CSX for them to come out and repair it. Comes to find out from the railroad worker that fixed the gate said that a tractor trailer truck hit the gate and moved it as it came down positioning it on to the tracks then Amtrak train the Floridian #40 heading to Tampa hit the gate at a high rate of speed causing the gear box to turn out of position and snap the gate right off. This video shows the repair of the gate crossing with the CSX employee that was called out. It also shows he had only 20 minutes before the same train Amtrak the Floridian #40 coming back from Tampa was to come through. So just in time, he repaired the gate, and Amtrak was notified only a couple minutes before it arrived to resume normal speed of 79 mph that the stop slow order was lifted. This CSX worker needs a bonus for getting the job done quickly and safely just before the train came through, so it wasn't delayed, and no one was injured or killed from the defective crossing.
