While the open slopes of Howe Ridge can be brutally hot, an overcast day made the trip up and over to Trout Lake in Glacier National Park an enjoyable affair. With ample birds singing, flowers blooming, and sightings of deer, elk, and a snowshoe hare, we had a lovely day despite the occasional light rain showers and wet shrubbery along the trail.
