Meteorologist Alexa Trischler says the Gulf disturbance has a high 70% chance of developing into a depression or Tropical Storm Edouard over the next two days.
The National Hurricane Center says the system is located about 125 miles south of southeastern Louisiana. Satellite imagery and other data show the disturbance has become better organized since Saturday, and additional development is possible as it moves west-northwestward.
Bigger impacts for Houston, east Texas and western Louisiana. Spaghetti models show it could make landfall between Houston and Lake Charles, LA on Tuesday.
This will bring scattered passing showers and storms to the Gulf South, including Southeast LA and South MS, over the next few days. Storms will be hit or miss but heavy downpours are possible at times that may lead to localized street flooding.
