On June 16, 2024, an AZDPS trooper attempted to stop a motorcyclist near U.S. 60 and Stapley Drive for speeding and reckless driving. The motorcyclist fled at high speed, and the Mesa Police Department’s Falcon helicopter followed the suspect for nearly 67 miles as the motorcyclist continued to speed and drive recklessly on the highway and city streets. The suspect eventually attempted to hide from law enforcement in a parking garage at a local casino, but was quickly located and arrested. The motorcyclist was booked into jail with multiple charges.
