A Texas state trooper was injured after a county commissioner sideswiped his cruiser while it was stopped on the shoulder. The trooper had pulled over a semi-trailer and was filling out paperwork when the passing truck hit and bounced off his car. The officer was taken to the hospital with a shoulder injury. The commissioner was cited for violation of a "move-over" law, which requires traffic to merge away from emergency vehicles on the shoulder. (2006)
