Bristol Sport celebrated a UK first for a sporting group when three of its teams played at Ashton Gate Stadium in less than 48 hours.

A total of 58,388 supporters watched City men match Premier League Nottingham Forest in a sell-out Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round tie (25,787), Bristol Bears play local rivals Bath Rugby (26,387) and City Women (6,214) take on West Ham Women in the Barclay’s Women’s Super League.

Gavin Marshall, Chief Executive of the Bristol Sport Group, said: “This was a first for a sporting group in the UK and a real testament to the collective power of Bristol Sport. To have three of our five teams play at Ashton Gate on three separate days, including two sell-outs, is a real example for what the Group was designed to do, which is to inspire our community and show Bristol as a progressive and exciting city on the sporting map.”

Mark Kelly, CEO of the Ashton Gate Sporting Quarter, said: “It was fantastic to welcome so many people to the three matches and to showcase the stadium as a premier sports destination. A lot of people put in a huge amount of effort leading up to and over the weekend and we are fortunate to have so many dedicated staff who are committed to putting on memorable experiences.”
