Andy Rawls - In this video I'm working on the joinery for my Brenham Settee. This particular joint is called a housed mortise and tenon, where the shoulder of the tenon is buried into the opposing leg. I use this joint when I need to connect a straight rail to a curved leg. I'll be using shop made jigs with my plunge router to cut the mortise. The tenons are cut on the table saw and hand fitted using a hand plane.
