For many South Dakotans, there is security in knowing that if there’s an emergency, help is just a call away. But for those living on some reservations, help could be an hour or longer wait.

At the Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Association meeting Tuesday, tribal leaders requested more funding to hire additional law enforcement.
