Kyle Petty takes us back to Tennessee for Month 3 of the Legends Build, and the pressure is on. The students at LaVergne High School returned from holiday break straight into crunch time…and they're feeling it. With less than 90 working days (closer to 80 with Billy Lane heading to Bike Week), every build team realizes: the clock is ticking.
In this update, Kyle Petty walks you through the action inside the shop as the team splits into two groups to divide and conquer. Group 1 rebuilds the rear triangle stand while group 2 finalizes the tail section, mounts the Blockhead Moto stainless exhaust, and dials in seat and peg positioning after Chris Carr's masterclass.
Mentor Billy Lane continues to share pro tips to help the student build team reach the finish line and even puts in some extra work on the bike by machining dummy axles and adding spacers at his shop to reduced “scissoring” in order to keep the build on track.
Up next, painting legend Dave Perewitz will pick up parts at the Sons of Speed race, start mapping out the custom paint, then send the finished pieces to all the Legends for signatures before final clear and striping.
