We’re back with a First Watch Reaction to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 5, “In the Name of the Mother” and yeah… this is the one where the show cashes in every chip it has.

We get the Trial of Seven in all its messy, terrifying glory: Dunk and his ragtag crew lining up against Aerion Targaryen and the crown’s heavy hitters, early bodies hitting the dirt fast, and a fight that feels less like “noble justice” and more like “Westeros is a scam.”  

Then the episode hard swerves into Dunk’s Flea Bottom history, digging into what made him who he is long before he ever put on a knight’s helm, and why he keeps choosing the hard right over the easy wrong.  

And the ending? The Trial might be “over,” but Westeros still collects its price, and Prince Baelor Targaryen paying it is a franchise-level gut punch.
