This video is part 2 from my visit to the Trelleborg Viking Festival 2017, an annual Viking event near Slagelse in Denmark.
This part focuses on the Viking market, where reenactors and craftsmen sell historically inspired Viking items such as leather goods, jewellery, clothing, weapons, and traditional Viking food.
The Trelleborg Viking Festival is held near the famous Trelleborg ring fortress, one of Denmark’s Viking Age fortresses dated to around the year 980. During the festival, the area comes alive with Viking reenactment, demonstrations, and activities for both adults and children.
You can easily spend 4–6 hours at Trelleborg during the Viking festival, especially when the market is open. There are also activities for kids, such as archery and shield fighting, making it a good event for families.
If you’re interested in Viking history, reenactment, or living history events, Trelleborg is best visited during the summer festival or similar Viking events.
