Powerful thunderstorms left a trail of destruction across central Pennsylvania on Independence Day. Trees crashed into homes, blocked major roads, damaged vehicles and forced a rescue on the Susquehanna River.
According to PPL at 8:30 p.m., 147,000 customers were without power, half of those in the Cumberland and Monroe counties.
