Hello,

Another project that Vegas wanted to kill. No lie, I had to save and resave this so many times, I think it went through ten different project names. If I didn't love these characters so much, I would've give up long ago, and this would never have seen the light of day...

Anywho. Storyline in bullet points because I'm very lazy (there's probably a billion typos, forgive me please).

- In my AU world, Mitchell didn’t die, obviously, and though they don’t make an appearance here, nor did George or Nina. They all just realised how toxic their codependent friendship was and decided to work on it - but not move out because that would be like Annie losing her familiars and they all decided that would be too risky.
- Emma is a distant relative of Pearl’s who had been living with Pearl, Leo and Hal for a while before Leo and Pearl passed over.
- Emma was pretty much immediately smitten with Mitchell from the first sight - at this point 90% of Hal’s disapproval came from his general disapproval of vampires rather than Mitchell as a ‘person’. He agrees to put this aside for Emma after she reminds him that she has a limited life expectancy and so needs to spend her time doing things she wants to do.
- Emma’s jealous over Mitchell’s bond with Annie, but her own growing friendship with her fellow ghost, and her need for this relationship to work out because of how short she thinks it will be mean she refuses to let it cast a shadow over her relationship for too long.
- Hal tries to leave, knowing that being around a vampire as volatile as Mitchell is definitely not good for his own ‘sobriety’, but the sight of Emma watching him go forces him to change his mind.
- When Emma’s condition ultimately catches up with her, there’s no door. For Mitchell this is an unforeseen complication; he expected it to be a short-term relationship and simply wanted Emma to enjoy what time she had left. Now he’s faced with the prospect of forever with her.
- Until her death, Hal didn’t realise quite how he felt for Emma. He originally saw her as an annoyance, and there were significant arguments with Pearl over the dangers of a human living with them. Over time, he came to see her as almost a sister. At least he thought so until he recognised the new emotion that seeing Mitchell/Emma together brought out in him was jealousy.
- Mitchell’s frustration with the situation grows increasingly pronounced, concerning every one in the house, though Emma brushes it off as no big deal.
- As Mitchell’s frustration grows more pronounced, so does Hal’s concern, and also his feelings for Emma become more obvious which leave her confused, especially after she overhears Hal telling Annie it ‘doesn’t matter how we feel’ - here referring to how he feels about Emma and how Annie feels about Mitchell.
- Annie begins to realise that Emma feels something for Hal in return and asks her about it, much to the other ghost’s chagrin.
- Hal’s guilt over his actions throughout his long life continues to haunt him and prevents him confessing his feelings for Emma out of fear of reverting and hurting her.
- Eventually, Mitchell realises that they can’t keep going like this, and admits that he had used Emma, and their relationship, to feel better about himself.
- With everyone now free, Hal and Emma tentatively begin to explore their emotions...Annie and Mitchell not so tentatively do the same.

I almost changed the ending to Hal reverting to 'Lord Harry' but I'm so tired of working my butt off on this only for it Vegas to carry out repeated assassination attempts that I just gave up. So fluffy endings for every one...for now.

I definitely want to explore Hal/Emma's more, so expect another video of them...and probably more in this AU world...Yay?? As I'm uploading this, I'm on 1,199...I promise another Poldark video before the end of the week...please don't abandon me!
