Wrapping up the final leg of my birthday trip in beautiful Auckland, New Zealand đłđżâ¨ and this one was definitely a vibe. Anytime I travel, Iâm always on the lookout for three things: standout fashion inspiration, good energy from the people (you know the vibe đ), and breathtaking nature spotsâand Auckland delivered on all three.
One of my favorite experiences here was hiking up Mt Eden, also known as Maungawhau. This iconic destination is actually a dormant volcano and the highest natural point on the Auckland isthmus, standing at about 196 meters. The hike itself is super manageable, but the views at the top? Absolutely worth it. You get panoramic scenes of the entire city, making it a perfect spot for photos, reflection, and just soaking it all in.
What really makes Mt Eden special is its massive, well-preserved craterâabout 50 meters deepâoften referred to as âthe food bowl of Mataaho.â Thereâs so much cultural and geological history here, with the volcano having last erupted around 28,000 years ago. Standing at the top, you can really feel the energy of the land and its story.
If youâre ever in Auckland and looking for a mix of adventure, history, and scenic beauty, this is definitely a must-visit. I had such a great time exploring, taking in the views, and just enjoying the moment.
