Coconuts TV | TRASH to ART: Meet Wishulada, Thailand's social activist artist | KINNARI | Coconuts TV @CoconutsTV | Uploaded 3 years ago | Updated 3 minutes ago
One man's trash is another woman's art đź’Ą

Meet Wishulada “Aye” Panthanuvong, an artist who works with waste materials to yes, make art, but also incite change.

“In the beginning, my parents were worried because they couldn’t see my future.”

Aye could’ve become a civil servant — she took the exam and passed — but her life took a different direction when she got the chance to work as a visual merchandiser and learned the principles of fashion. Things escalated from there and now she’s a full-on social activist.

“I feel that art and design can change society. And can change the environment.”

Join Aye as she brings you to her fresh exhibition “Incarnate,” or “Transforming,” inspired by nature and its interaction with trash, with an ironic twist.

KINNARI is a term used to describe powerful warrior women in Southeast Asian culture. The modern day Kinnari are at the forefront of redefining what society thinks of women. They’re here to change all of mankind.
