This is the spring powered catapult that I built to throw batarangs.
It is constructed entirely from scraps that I found in a rusty pile of metal.
Thanks for all of your suggestions on what to throw with it!
It ended up being a very powerful launcher that could toss batarangs far harder than we could throw them, so mission accomplished.
