Know the Code 📖 Plano’s Municipal Code says refuse cannot be allowed to accumulate or remain on a property. That can include items such as broken or discarded furniture, fragments of building materials and other waste. 🚮
Some larger items may be part of a scheduled bulky waste collection. Plano has separate guidelines for what can be collected, how much can be set out and when items can be placed at the curb or alley. 🪑
Other materials need a different disposal route altogether. 🛢️ Paint, gasoline, pesticides, pool chemicals, automotive fluids and other household chemicals should not go in regular trash or bulky waste. Plano residents can schedule a Household Chemical Collection through the City.

If you see an ongoing trash or debris concern at a nearby property, report it through Plano.gov/FixIt. Property Standards staff can inspect the location and determine whether the condition qualifies as a code violation.
