Pioneers of German stoner rock, TRANSONIC SCIENCE, unveil 'Psychobulb' full album details; album set to release on May 3rd via Argonauta Records.
The 9 songs on the forthcoming LP 'Psychobulb' show once again that Transonic Science are still very much at home in the stoner rock genre, but are also a band that explores sonic landscapes beyond its boundaries: High-energy rock meets heavy psych. Rough grunge parts mix with psychedelic laid back passages. TS plays unruly, wild, loud. Gladly with fuzz, as long as it still bangs. TS has always been a band that thinks about sounds and songs - and that with Ergün has the singer you immediately hear among thousands - with his own way of creating hooks and how he condenses sound into raw energy. On 'Psychobulb', you can rediscover all this.
'Psychobulb' is one of Transonic Science's best albums to date. It is an expression of everything the band has experienced together and pulls you back with force into the world of the heavy rock underground, where one thing has always counted: Showing corners and edges and pushing where energy and feeling want to be set free.
'Psychobulb' tracklisting and cover art are as follows:
Fear of God
Stereo One
Kain & Abel
Cherokee Smith
Scarscraper
Wildest Frame
Dusty
Satellite Blues
Jaycoon
Today is also the day TRANSONIC SCIENCE release their new single, entitled 'Kain & Abel', now streaming on all platforms: ingrv.es/kain-abel-wxp-k
The point of “Kain & Abel” is that good and evil will always fight each other. This is how they keep each other alive and ensure that they - good and evil - will always exist.
The main riff of the song was written years ago when bassist and co-founder Gerald was still alive. After his death it was a matter of heart for the rest of the band to take that riff and create a new song around it that Gerald would have liked. So it's heavy, it's simple but intense and it's meant to be played loud. The audience loved it at Transonic Science's live shows and the band was very happy to be able to transfer the song’s energy to the recording.
Transonic Science, pioneers of the German stoner rock scene since 1997, have left an indelible mark on the music landscape. Their journey began with the EP "Sunshine Baby Home" in 2001, featuring the standout track "Solar Love," earning recognition from Visions magazine. Over the years, they've shared stages with renowned acts like Dozer, Girls Against Boys, and Blackmail, solidifying their presence in the industry. The band faced challenges, including the loss of co-founder Gerald Kirsch in 2018, but found renewed strength through a tribute concert, inviting bassist Manuel Estrada into the fold.
In 2020, Transonic Science made a powerful comeback, gearing up for their upcoming LP "Psychobulb," set for release in early 2024. This album showcases their evolution, blending high-energy rock with heavy psych, grunge elements, and psychedelic interludes. Led by the distinctive vocals of Ergün Aktürk, Transonic Science promises an electrifying experience, channeling raw energy into their music. "Psychobulb" encapsulates the band's collective experiences, inviting listeners back into the world of heavy rock underground, where authenticity, energy, and emotion reign supreme.
Line up:
Ergün Aktürk: Vocals
Peter Begerow: Drums
Markus Bongardt: Guitars

![WARCHIEF - Ghost Egg (official single) [Octopus Rising / Argonauta]
Jyväskylä, Finland – Experimental hard rock explorers WARCHIEF have officially joined the Octopus Rising roster, the (un)parallel label of Argonauta Records. Known for their unique fusion of stoner, doom, sludge, grunge, 90s alt-rock, progressive rock, and AOR, the Finnish outfit is set to release their long-awaited sophomore album, Toil & Trouble, later this year.
To celebrate this new chapter, WARCHIEF has unveiled the first taste of their upcoming record with the release of their new single, Ghost Egg. The track showcases the bands signature dynamic interplay between crushing heaviness and intricate, exploratory melodies, solidifying their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the heavy rock underground.
Since their inception, WARCHIEF has continuously evolved, pushing the boundaries of their sonic identity. Their journey began with the For Heavy Damage demo in 2011, followed by their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2015, released on Phonosphera Records. The band gained momentum through extensive touring, sharing stages with heavyweights like Bongzilla, Mars Red Sky and Pentagram. Their 2019 EP Morning Home further expanded their musical horizons, incorporating more progressive and atmospheric elements into their signature doom-laden sound.
With Toil & Trouble, WARCHIEF embarks on yet another sonic voyage, deepening their exploration of contrast and complexity. The partnership with Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records marks a significant milestone, ensuring that the bands artistic vision and relentless forward momentum are fully supported.
A lot of effort has gone into ensuring the quality of this release, as well as our artistic development, the band states. Finding a partner that values and supports that growth is paramount, and we believe weve found that in Octopus Rising. We share a lot of DNA with other bands on the label, but we also bring something entirely unique to the scene.
Stay tuned for further details on Toil & Trouble, coming soon via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records. In the meantime, experience the powerful first single, Ghost Egg, available now on all major streaming platforms.

Newborn Sun is the closing song from Finnish heavy psych metallers’ Mount Palatine’s second album Wormholy World (released 6.2.2026 via Argonauta Records/ Octopus Rising).
Newborn Sun is a massive jam-driven, hypnotic piece that proclaims a universal vision of life’s eternal cycle, while carrying a deeply personal resonance. The music video embraces this theme by delving into the universal expressions of spirituality and sacredness. True to the spirit of the album Wormholy World, the visual presentation weaves together a network of timeless and placeless rituals, bridging the high and the low, the earthly and the celestial.
Filmed by Markus and Ida Alavire (Saarni Music), at Saarni Studio. Edited by Lord of the Groove.
Performance by Jean the Baron (vocals & guitars), Count Boogie (bass), and Lord of the Groove (Drums).

From the album: Ægony
ORDER: https://www.argonautarecords.com/shop/cd/783-an-evening-with-knives-end-of-time-cd.html
The band says:
“If am I a God? Uhh, I dont care... I only guide the clouds. With these words, Rainmaker begins — a song dedicated to Charles Mallory Hatfield (Ego vs. Mother Nature).
Inspired by the scientists climate experiments, and in particular the events that took place in San Diego in 1916, the track reflects on his attempts to control the weather through his studies, which ultimately led to disaster.
In our opinion, Rainmaker is the true outsider of the album.
It’s the meanest track, and we could easily define it as the most metal.
It was the first song we wrote with this lineup.
We’ve always liked it, and even though it differs a bit from the rest of the album, we wanted to include it in Ægony because it’s always been a favorite to play live and consistently made a strong impact on our audience.
Enjoy listening!

The wait is over! UK-based doom heavyweights IRONRAT are back and ready to dominate the heavy music scene once again. The band has revealed the full details of their highly anticipated new album, Beneath It All, set for release in February 28th 2025 via Argonauta Records. Alongside the announcement, IRONRAT has dropped a thunderous new single and an accompanying video, offering fans an electrifying first glimpse of what’s to come.
Drawing inspiration from iconic bands such as Red Fang, Alice In Chains, Corrosion of Conformity and Mastodon, IRONRAT has crafted a sound that blends the raw grit of sludge and doom with the emotive edge of grunge. Their forthcoming record marks a triumphant return nearly a decade after their acclaimed debut, Monument, in 2015.
The journey to Beneath It All wasn’t without challenges. The band weathered a temporary setback with the departure of their vocalist, Chris, due to health reasons. However, instead of faltering, IRONRAT used this time to regroup, reforge and emerge stronger than ever with a revitalized lineup:
Vocals & Guitar: Martin Wiseman (Psychlona, Wolves In Winter)
Guitar: Wayne Hustler (Wolves In Winter, ex-Monolith Cult)
Bass: Stuart Hillman
Drums: Gordon Wilkinson (Hollow Earth, Lazarus Blackstar, ex-Khang)
Fans of the band will know IRONRAT hasn’t been idle during their studio hiatus. Their explosive live performances alongside heavyweights like Orange Goblin, Phil Campbell and Psychlona have kept their name firmly etched in the heavy music circuit. Appearances at prestigious festivals like Bloodstock, SOPHIE Fest, and Manor Fest have further cemented their reputation as one of the UK’s premier doom acts.
The upcoming album, recorded at the renowned Foel Studio and produced by Chris Fielding of Conan fame, is a testament to IRONRAT’s sonic evolution. Packed with massive riffs, crushing tones, and a newfound melodic depth in the vocals, Beneath It All showcases the band’s growth while staying true to their core sound.
Stay tuned for the full release of Beneath It All this February, and in the meantime, dive into the new single and video—a powerful preview of the epic soundscapes that await.

![WHITE TUNDRA - Kultarberget (official video) [Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records]
Norwegian heavy rock voyagers White Tundra announce the release of the new single and videoclip for the song Kultarberget. The track anticipates the band’s upcoming album “Stories from the Dark”, out on April 24th 2026 in deluxe vinyl and digital formats via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.
“Kultarberget” represents a powerful new chapter in the sonic journey of White Tundra, blending hypnotic riffs, massive grooves and evocative atmospheres rooted in Scandinavian mystique. The song expands the band’s signature sound, balancing dusty desert rock influences with darker doom laden tones and a strong sense of narrative tension.
“Stories from the Dark” marks the second full length release by White Tundra and follows their acclaimed self titled debut from 2023. The album was written and recorded between 2024 and 2025 and captures a period of transformation and consolidation for the band.
White Tundra comment on the album:
“We started working on this album early 2024 when Kjell Andres joined on lead guitars. He had been piling up ideas for a while and came into the band with fresh blood and energy. After a while, Øyvind joined on bass and we really started to focus on writing in the summer of 2024.
Rhys Marsh at Automnsongs Recording Studio, where we recorded our first album, contacted us around this time and we decided to continue the work with him as a producer for the next album.
Many songs were in the loop for this album, but we settled on these final six tracks as the ones who fit best together. The winter and spring were used for demoing and pre productions, and Ola hit the studio first, recording the drums in mid July. Bass, guitar and vocals were recorded during two consecutive weeks in August.
The music has partly been written after the lyrics, often starting with creating the chorus and main mood of the songs and building on the songs from there. Other songs were partly finished musically before the lyrics fell into place.
Ola has written all the lyrics for this album, with the help from singer Steven to adapt them to the music. Thematically it takes off where the previous album ended, with lyrics about escaping from society, the unknown around us and a bit of local folklore. The album ending track White Tundra tries to explain the whole soul and story of the band, describing the journey from the inspirational desert rock, ending in the white, stormy Tundra.”
“Stories from the Dark” was produced and mixed by Rhys Marsh at Automnssongs Recording Studio and mastered by Joona Hassinen at Studio Underjord.
