Traditional design often focuses on fixing individual parts or creating standalone products. Transition design is different. It designs structures and processes that enable transitions within complex adaptive systems. Instead of reducing an issue to isolated components, this course teaches you to understand the conditions for transformation and the nonlinear, discontinuous dynamics of change. You will learn to move beyond "patching" symptoms and instead focus on guiding change by working with the surrounding context, using evolutionary models, futuring, and co-design to cultivate entirely new outcomes.

This course is structured across 22 comprehensive modules. Each module includes a short, engaging video presentation (3-4 minutes) that introduces key ideas, along with concise concept cards for quick reference. You'll also receive practical, step-by-step walkthroughs of specific tools for running your own co-design workshops, followed by interactive quizzes to reinforce your learning.
