Since my mom passed away, I often find myself thinking about the beautiful dress she wore on my wedding day. As our 11th wedding anniversary approaches in a few weeks, and during Pride Month, I wanted to share something that means so much to me. Of all the ways I've tried to honor my mom, this feels the most meaningful. The dress she wore on one of the happiest days of my life has now been incorporated into the suit I wore at her memorial service. It feels like a beautiful reminder that she was there for both of those moments, one filled with celebration and one filled with loss. My mom loved me unconditionally. She loved me for exactly who I am and always encouraged me to be my authentic self. Having a piece of her with me in this way is a physical reminder of a bond that will never be broken.
