The blue gear shaft receives rotation from outside source (not shown) via a belt drive.
The yellow bar receives motion from the blue gear shaft via the spur gear drive (blue and yellow gear). The yellow gear is fixed to the yellow bar. If the gears have the same tooth number, one period of the Trammel of Archimedes corresponds 3 revolutions of the blue gear shaft.
This mechanism is used in bottle shaking machines. See:
