Trains on the Norfolk Southern Harrisburg Line Summer 2017 was shot between Reading and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, from the end of June to the beginning of September, 2017. Train descriptions, and the time they appear in the video are listed below.

8/20/17 - Continuing the trend of the UP ACe invasion, it was nice to see something a little different in the mix: a KCS de Mexico AC44 second out on 36Q on a humid, sunny morning.

A half hour later hot shot 20E with a trio of typical GE products passes the horse pasture near Milepost 78. The train was about 2 miles long and kept losing contact with the marker, hence why the end of train slows down to 30 MPH.

At noon, the Central Railroad of New Jersey Heritage Unit leads 20K by the train station in Lebanon.

That afternoon at Avon, 19G crosses Main 1-2 at PRESCOTT and rolls across 15th Ave with a large train, most notably are the Erie Lackawanna hoppers mid-train and the second to last car: an ex-Reading GR61A still in its original, but shabby paint. You may have to pause the video to make out the letters.

8/26/17 - On a hot and hazy morning, 36Q glides down hill at Robesonia passing the farmhouse and barn, through the Freeman St crossing with K5LLA echoing off the hillside.

8/29/17 - A fresh C6M rebuild leads a short 15T through DORF, with a SD60I and an increasingly rare C40-9 that will also soon be rebuilt into a AC44C6M. It's nice to hear that good P5 horns are still thrown onto these rebuilds.

A short time later 290 knocks the signal down at DORF with only the first unit online with a short rack/stack train. KCS units are fairly uncommon here, although several did pay a visit throughout the year.

Later that evening H31 throttles up after observing a speed restriction around Milepost 77. 3029 was one of a few GP40-2's retrofitted with a lowered cab-mounted horn on the conductor's side to enable it to pull TOFC trains on the Northeast Corridor—an operation that was very short-lived.

On October 14, 2018 after the 425 excursion, Reading & Northern train JTEX departs Jim Thorpe with red GP39RNs 2534 & 2535 and 5 Cyro-Trans box cars. The red GPs are primarily used as power for the Lehigh Scenic Railway, but with the weekend coming to a close, the locomotives were swiped for this extra move to North Reading. Train and location information and video timestamps are listed below.

0:00 - Starting at Quakake, MP15DC 1543 idles away, to be picked up en route.
1:15 - While JTEX picked up the switcher, I relocated down the road to East Mahanoy Junction (EMX) to catch the train rounding the curve with the M&S branch in the foreground (Mahanoy & Shamokin).
1:50 - After making a pickup in Tamaqua, JTEX proceeds south at Millers Crossing in Molino, passing a field of soybeans at track speed.
