South Kenton is perhaps one of the most famous stations on the southern section of the West Coast Main Line among trainspotters. As well as being an intermediate station on the Watford DC lines and London Underground Bakerloo line halfway between Harrow & Wealdstone and Wembley Central, it sees a huge amount of passing services on the West Coast Main Line heading towards Milton Keynes, the Midlands and beyond. Services are seen by Avanti West Coast using Class 390 sets, London Northwestern Railway using Class 350s, London Overground with their Class 710s and the Bakerloo line with the 1972 Stock.
Being one of only a few stations on the WCML between Euston and Watford Junction with unrestricted views to the fast lines (the others being Carpenders Park and Bushey), the views here are excellent. Despite visiting on a Saturday, there was still plenty of variety to keep one occupied.
