Meadowhall Interchange is a surprisingly large and busy interchange located on the southern trans-Pennine route and also on the Sheffield Supertram network. It's one of the UK's only "proper" interchanges outside of London and one I was very happy to visit. Services are operated by Northern, Transpennine Express, CrossCountry and the trams.
Meadowhall station serves the busy Meadowhall shopping centre, one of the largest in the North East and sees a variety of coach, bus, tram and train operations. We're focusing just on the trams and trains today but you really have to visit to get an impression of the true scale of the place.
Views at Meadowhall are slightly annoying due to the grass mound placed between the Leeds and Doncaster bound platforms. It's not a problem for the average visitor (it actually looks quite nice) but can cause some problems for spotting. I found a nice location towards the southern end of Platform 2 where I was able to film all the action.
