Still images of CO/CP and R stock trains (filmed in the late 1970s), S-VHS video of the C and D stocks (filmed in 1990) and HD video of the 1938 Tube stock, C, D, and S 'Subsurface Railway' stocks as filmed on various dates between 2012 and 2022.
The S stock footage includes showing how the use of white lights on the train sides can help passengers know when a train is about to close its doors and leave the station.
In addition to the trains this film also shows:
*the station
*the sundial above the station entrance roof
*the remains of part of the Roman-era Wall of London (thought to be about 2,000 years old!)
*the nearby Tower of London (an historic castle that was founded after the Norman invasion in 1066)
*one of London's best loved landmarks - Tower Bridge.
Also seen are some tourist sightseeing buses, 'New Routemaster' buses, and more.
One film clip was also sourced from the south bank of the River Thames which is easily reached from Tower Hill Underground station by walking across Tower Bridge.
One of my longest films, a little over 20 minutes in duration.
