Training has suffered massively in the UK in recent decades, less and less people are training or getting the chance to train as tradespeople due to many factors including dilution of skills training, the push over recent governments to keep young people in academia and go to University instead of taking vocational training such as a trade in construction.
Will we ever be as good as Germany at training a workforce fit for the demand we have here in the UK for everything from building new homes and repairing and maintaining existing housing stock and all the other civil and commercial projects we have!!!
