The Aliveness system was created by Matt Thornton and is formulated around modern MMA and uses the vocabulary of its single parts like Boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Wrestling. So for better comprehension I will provide HEMA specific examples. Aliveness can be applied to most weapons and unarmed combat as well.
