In the fall of 2024, the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad moved their new diesel locomotive from Washington State to Colorado by heavy haul truck. Locomotive 114 was built in 1982 by Bombardier Transportation for the White Pass and Yukon. It is classified as a DL-535E type. Now at its new home, the 114 will be used for work trains and as a backup for the steam locomotives.
