In the 1800’s the site was the location of The Cataract House hotel. To some historians it was the most important Underground Railroad Station on the Niagara Frontier.

Once there, Morgan discovers the inner workings of a Black Resistance operation that guided enslaved people to freedom in Canada. In a revealing and scientific exploration of the Cataract House, its hidden remnants, and the artifacts left behind, Morgan follows a committed team of archeologists and community leaders as they recover an essential but forgotten history. Through an archaeological excavation of the site, we gain incredible insight into the lives and operations of some of the Underground Railroad’s greatest unsung heroes. #TheNatureOfThings
